But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8

In Calvary’s strategy of fulfilling Jesus’ Great Commission, found in the verse above, our Missions emphasis is four-fold.

Jerusalem – This is Dothan, our city. We want to transform our city by sharing the Gospel with our neighbors, our coworkers, and our community. We do this as a church through our community ministries. We do this as small groups by volunteering in a wide range of community projects. We do this individually by seeing ourselves as missionaries at work, at the ball field, and wherever we have influence in Dothan.

Judea – What’s going on in our country? We want to be a part of church planting and ministry that looks a lot like our ministry DNA. Currently we continue to support our Hispanic congregation that meets on Montgomery Highway here in Dothan. We are the sending church for Grace City Church in Manhattan, we are a supporting church for a replant in New Orleans, and we are supporting Northeastern Baptist College of Vermont with mission trips and monthly financial support.

Samaria – We are traveling to cultures that are different from us and partnering with fellow Christians in works of service. Currently we have mission partnerships in Guatemala, Kenya, and India. We desire to send teams of missionaries to each of these locations every year as well as encourage them with prayer and financial support. We also financially support mission efforts in the Middle East and South Asia.

The end of the earth – We have adopted the Shaikh people group of South Asia. We are funding a pastor training program and visiting South Asia twice a year.
