Dan received Christ at Calvary Baptist Church of Dothan as a child and remained an active member of Calvary until he left for college in 2003. In 2007, Dan graduated from the University of Montevallo and moved to Birmingham, Alabama where he sensed God’s call to ministry in 2008. After seven years of serving in Recreation Ministry (first at Hunter Street Baptist Church in Hoover, AL and then at First Baptist Church in Dothan), Dan is back home at Calvary to serve as Discipleship Pastor.
Dan’s passion is discipleship because he believes as long as the church is focused on making disciples, God will bless and empower that church to fulfill His mission. He hopes to awaken the disciple maker in every believer at Calvary!
Dan earned a Master of Arts in Christian Education and a Doctorate in Educational Ministry from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Dan is married to Anna Coe Tankersley and they are proud parents of Elijah and Kate.
