  • David GloverElder

David and Lee moved to Dothan in 2015 to be with their daughter, Anna Lee, and family including their three youngest grandchildren and joined Calvary shortly after moving. Though raised by godly parents in church, David was saved at age 30 at a men’s retreat. David and Lee were married in 1970, raised their three children in Gainesville, Georgia and now have twelve grandchildren.

After the death of their first grandson, Zach, in 2003, they, along with their late daughter, Katie (Zach’s mom), formed PURE Ministries to help inform, inspire, and train local churches to better minister to and with special needs people and their families. David is an ordained Minister of the Gospel, and, in conjunction with his role at PURE Ministries, has previously served as National Consultant for Disabilities Ministries for the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. He holds a Bachelor of Industrial and Systems Engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and has been instrumental in the founding and development of several technology companies.

David is the author of “A Better Way: Where Least is Most,” and, in addition to serving at Calvary, now speaks/teaches PURE Ministry in churches, conferences, college, seminaries and wherever God leads.

Later in 2014, they adopted a daughter (Lilly) from China, and then in the year 2019 they adopted another daughter from India, Eliza.

Eric professed Christ as Lord and Savior at the age of 34. He has chaired the mission committee at Calvary and participated in missions to Guatemala, Honduras, India, New York, Vermont, and locally in Dothan. Subsequently Eric attended and graduated with a Masters in Religion in Christian Apologetics from Liberty University. Eric enjoys walking along side those who have objections or questions to Christianity by “being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you” (1 Pet. 3:15)

  • Jed DownsElder

Jed received Christ at the age of 7 by way of the Calvary Bus Ministry. This Bus Ministry would come by each Sunday morning and pick up Jed and other children in Dothan and take them to the Calvary campus for church. The teachers and Pastor of Calvary soon introduced Jed to a relationship with God through Christ Jesus. Jed very soon began his life journey as a follower of Jesus Christ by confessing, repenting of his sin and believing on Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Jed was baptized at Calvary and has been a member of Calvary since 1971. Jed graduated from Auburn University in 1985 with a degree in Building Science. Jed married his wife, Abby in 1986 and they immediately started their life in Dothan and began serving at Calvary. Jed is President of Qualico Steel Co., Inc. Jed has served in several areas of ministry at Calvary including Life Group Leader, Deacon, Deacon Chairman, and Pastor Search Committee. Abby has served alongside Jed in these areas and likewise as a Youth Life Group Leader and Women’s Bible Study Leader. Abby and Jed have 3 Children: Watson Downs (Kendal), Mary Grace O’Connor (Tate) and James Downs, along with many grandchildren.

Jed enjoys teaching, serving and discipling others. His preferred method of reading and studying scripture is through Inductive Bible Study. He was introduced to the Inductive Bible Study Method through Precept Ministries several years ago and it ‘fanned into flame’ his love for The Word.

Jed loves this church, Calvary, and it’s members and truly counts them as family.

  • Dave LindeyElder

Dave received Christ at the age of 11, through the ministry of Mt. Zion Baptist church in Prospect, Pa. Joining the Navy in 1969, he became involved with the intentional discipleship efforts of the Navigators. He and his wife Judi, met during his Naval schooling, and were married in 1971. They have two adult children, Shawn (California) and Katrina (Dothan). After active duty, they relocated to Dothan with Michelin, joining Calvary in 1979. Dave graduated from Troy State University in 1984 with a Batchelor of Science degree.

For Dave, teaching Scripture and spotlighting the Gospel is essential. The key response to Jesus’ command, ‘Make disciples, teaching them…’ is to do just that– teach scripture! Understanding scripture leads us to talk about the Gospel, ‘when we sit at home and when we walk along the road, when we lie down and when we rise up’.

Dave has served at Calvary as a Life Group leader, discipleship mentor and deacon. His missions leadership includes ministry in Guatemala, Honduras, and locally.
