  • Paul ThompsonSenior Pastor

    Paul joined the Calvary team as Senior Pastor in March, 2012. Prior to serving here, he was the Senior Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Jensen Beach, Florida for 15 years. Paul and his wife Cecilia met while students at Mars Hill University in Mars Hill, NC and married after graduation in 1992. They have 3 sons (Daniel, Alex, and Mark) and 1 daughter (Sarah). Paul also holds a Master of Divinity degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Wherever his family is is where he wants to be – especially if that means being at the beach! Paul loves to read, study, and travel.

    This is his ministry life verse and aim: “Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ.” – Colossians 1:28

  • Patrick LimaAssociate Pastor of Worship

    Patrick Lima joined Calvary Baptist Church in 2022 where he currently serves as the Associate Pastor of Worship. He Acquired a Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Leadership and Ministry from The University of Mobile. He and his wife, Amanda, have been married for 13 years. They have 6 children, 3 of which are foster children. Patrick and Amanda met in Brazil while Patrick served as a translator for missions.

  • Charles UptainExecutive Pastor

    Charles and his wife, Melody, both grew up in Dothan and met at Calvary. In fact, Charles answered God’s call into the ministry while working at Calvary as a summer intern back in 1994. Charles graduated from Samford University and while working on his seminary degree, Calvary called him as Children’s Pastor in January of 2000.

    Charles graduated with a Master of Divinity degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 2002. He has since been blessed with four children of his own, and he took on his present role of Executive Pastor in 2010. He enjoys cheering on the Crimson Tide and spending time with family and friends…especially on short or long vacations.

  • Dan TankersleyDiscipleship Pastor

    Dan received Christ at Calvary Baptist Church of Dothan as a child and remained an active member of Calvary until he left for college in 2003. In 2007, Dan graduated from the University of Montevallo and moved to Birmingham, Alabama where he sensed God’s call to ministry in 2008. After seven years of serving in Recreation Ministry (first at Hunter Street Baptist Church in Hoover, AL and then at First Baptist Church in Dothan), Dan is back home at Calvary to serve as Discipleship Pastor.

    Dan’s passion is discipleship because he believes as long as the church is focused on making disciples, God will bless and empower that church to fulfill His mission. He hopes to awaken the disciple maker in every believer at Calvary!

    Dan earned a Master of Arts in Christian Education and a Doctorate in Educational Ministry from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Dan is married to Anna Coe Tankersley and they are proud parents of Elijah and Kate.

  • Randy HuntSenior Adults

    Randy was raised in a Christian home and received Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord as a child. During youth camp he surrendered to vocational ministry. Randy attended the University of North Alabama and the Baptist College of Florida. He has been in ministry for over 40 years.

    Randy is married to Sandra and they have seven children, and three grandchildren. Four of their children live with them and are active here at Calvary. Randy has a desire to minister to senior adults and the entire family.

  • Tommy PerryCommunity

    Tommy Perry has recently joined the Calvary team as Director of Community Ministries and Outreach. He graduated from Troy University of Dothan with a Secondary Education degree. He taught classes, coached basketball, and directed athletics at Emmanuel Christian School for numerous years. Tommy has also served as a youth pastor and on a church planting team in this community. He teaches a Life Group here at Calvary and also serves as a Camp ROC mentor.

    His passion is to lead by equipping the saints in this local body to minister in word and deed to their community so that those who don’t know Christ will hear the gospel, respond in faith, and forever be transformed.

    Tommy and his wife, Jamie, are parents to four children, Nolan, Cassidy, Claudia, and Judson. He loves being with his family, watching his favorite professional soccer team, (Go Liverpool!), playing with the kids and cheering them on in various sporting activities.

  • Joyce AlexanderPreschool

    After growing up a spiritual orphan and accepting Christ as a young adult, Joyce felt God leading her to serve Him in some way in the local church. She taught Sunday School in the Preschool and Children’s for years. In 2000, she surrendered to the call to preschool and children’s ministry at First Baptist, Opp where she served for five years. In 2005, God called her to serve at Calvary where she is now passionately serving young families with babies-Kindergarten aged children.

    When she is away from the office, Joyce enjoys reading, crafting and spending time with her husband, their four children, and seven grandchildren.

  • Zach DanielsChildren

    Zach is a child of the Most High, husband to Hannah and dad to Lucy Claire. He graduated from Troy University and realized during his time there that Gospel ministry to children is his passion and has been his calling for now five years. Zach is currently pursuing an Mdiv. from Southern Seminary.

    Outside of ministry, Zach loves being with his family, cheering on the Florida Gators, and also enjoys wood-working projects. Casting a line in the water, hunting, and sending a bullet down range are his favorite pastimes.

  • Reagan FarrisStudents

    Reagan Farris is the father of four children, is a graduate of Liberty University, and has served in student ministry for 18 years. He is the student director here at Calvary and also a Rhetoric teacher and chaplain at Providence Chrsitian School. He has served the local church student ministry landscape as a student pastor, a ministry leadership consultant, and as a national speaker for camps, conferences, and weekend events.

    Reagan has also served as a church planter with the North American Mission Board. Reagan’s passion is to see a young generation of believers be raised up, discipled intentionally into mature followers of Jesus who love and trust God, and care for the people in their world in order to effectively make reproducing disciples the rest of their lives both in the home and around the globe. “When any student walks into the room, I smile because all I can see is the potential of what God could and wants to do through their lives for the glory of His name.”
